External Dashboard and Data Sets

The Department of For-Hire Vehicles has introduced an External Dashboard and Statistical Data Sets pertaining to the vehicle-for-hire industry. The dashboard is intended to generate policy discussions while supporting transparency and accountability. Review the information and share your comments.

Regulation Reminder

Shared riding is when a Starter at Union Station, Verizon Center, or Nationals Park hails a cab for a group of two or more willing passengers. The Starter determines when a taxicab shall depart without unreasonably delaying the departure to secure additional passengers. The general direction of the first passenger’s destination determines the direction of the trip. Passengers are discharged in the order of arrival at their destinations; then the driver re-sets the flag drop on the meter for each remaining passenger.
