The Department of For Hire Vehicles (DFHV) reminds passengers and drivers that masks are still required while driving or riding in taxis or ride-hailing company vehicles. Local rules supersede individual company policies.

Due to rising gas costs, an Emergency Fuel Surcharge will take effect at 12 am on April 29, 2026, until August 26, 2026.
A flat $1.00 will be added to all metered taxicab trips originating in the District.
