The Department of For-Hire Vehicles is located at 2235 Shannon Place, SE, Suite 20001, Washington, DC 20020
DFHV Service Center Hours of Operation: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Applications are accepted until 3:30 pm. The agency will be closed for all observed District Holidays.
Licensing and Permitting Applications: For-Hire Licenses and Permits are processed by the Client Services Division during normal hours of operations.
All For-Hire Examinations are offered daily from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Vision Zero Training Requirement: DFHV has committed itself to support the District’s Vision Zero traffic safety goals. To support these goals all For Hire License (new/renewal) applicants will be required to complete the Vision Zero training program.
