Department of For-Hire Vehicles

Due to the Snow Emergency declared by Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) has established a Snow Emergency Fare beginning at 12:01 am on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The Snow Emergency Fare adds a flat $15 per trip to the metered taxi fare for trips originating in the District.

My Rides

MyRides is a free on-demand service that provides transportation to treatment for Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. This program began in FY21 as a partnership between the Department of For-Hire Vehicles and the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). On October 1, 2025, the program transitioned fully to DBH for ongoing management. View more information at For Providers.
