NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice of Consideration of Proposed Amendments to
Title 31 (Taxicabs and Public Vehicles for Hire)
of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations

The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) announces two public hearings seeking stakeholder input on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to amend the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) by adding a new Title 31 (Vehicles for-Hire), which was published in the D.C. Register on November 16, 2018 at 65 DCR 012649. The rules, which are available here, revise the entire Title 31.  DFHV has scheduled two Public Hearings: the first one at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2019; and the second at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Both will be held at 2235 Shannon Place, SE, Washington, DC  20020, inside the Hearing Room, Suite 2032.

Those interested in speaking at the hearing should register by calling 202-645-6002 not later than Monday, January 14 at 5:00 pm.  Testimony will be limited to the specific subject matter of this public hearing.  Each participant will be allotted up to five (5) minutes to present.  Participants must submit ten (10) copies of their written testimony to the Secretary of the Department of For-Hire Vehicles, 2235 Shannon Place SE, Suite 3001, Washington, D.C. 20020, in advance of the hearing.  All speakers should be prepared to answer questions that may be posed by the Department during the hearing.
