Once a case has been started, the Office of Hearing Examiners will mail you a Scheduling Order that sets the date and time of the hearing.
Please read the information in the Scheduling Order carefully as it will tell you how to prepare for the hearing and what information you may need to file before the day of the hearing.
All hearings take place at the Department of For-Hire Vehicles, 2235 Shannon Place, SE, Suite 2032, which is located on the 2nd floor of the building. The building itself is located off of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE, near the “Big Chair”. The building is also walking distance from the Anacostia Metro Station on Metro’s Green Line. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is very limited street parking available.
Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the building. As with all government buildings, you will have to show a picture ID and go through security. Plan to arrive at the Office of Hearing Examiners at least 15 minutes before the start time of your hearing.
Remember to: wear appropriate clothing, do not bring food or drinks, be respectful to other parties, and turn off your cell phones and other electronic devices before the start of the hearing.
