DFHV announces the beginning of Open Season for drivers to select or renew their Digital Taxicab Solution (DTS) or Option for Payment Technology (OPT). DTS and OPT Providers service District taxicabs with digital taxi meters. All licensed taxicabs in the District are required to have digital meters and DFHV is increasing its enforcement of this requirement. DFHV advises drivers to contact providers for more details and to carefully evaluate the features and pricing terms to select the DTS/OPT Provider that best fits their business needs.
Drivers who choose to switch their DTS/OPT Providers must do so before September 1, 2021. DFHV limits DTS contracts to a maximum of one year, September 1 - August 31, to protect drivers and expand their choices.
