The DC Taxicab Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Chapter 10 (Public Vehicles for Hire) dealing generally with the application and licensing process  and Chapter 11 (Assessment Funds ) incorporating the 2010 Budget Support Act amendments expanding the contributors into and uses for the Assessment Fund.

The Commission invites anyone with an interest in the changes proposed for these two chapters (see DC Municipal Regulations - Title 31 at www.dctaxi.dc.gov ), who may wish to participate in the hearing, to a prehearing conference (open to the public).

The purpose of the prehearing conference will be to set the format for the public hearing and ensure that both opponents and proponents of the changes have an adequate opportunity to present their positions.  Both the prehearing conference and the public hearing will deal only with the two aforementioned chapters.

If you wish to be a participant in the prehearing conference discussion, please register your intent to attend with the Assistant Secretary of the Commission, Juanda Mixon by email ([email protected] ).  Please provide your name, address, a contact number, whether you favor or oppose the changes and whether you represent any organization, group or company.

Registration for the prehearing conference must be received before close of business October 20.  Time, date and place of the prehearing conference will be announced by the end of the month.
