Attention: Robbery Alert

The information was received from the Metropolitan Police Department detailing two recent robberies of taxicab operators.

The following information was received from the Metropolitan Police Department detailing two recent robberies of taxicab operators.

October 29 – cab driver picks up fare at 14th and U Streets, NW, and asks to be taken to 4100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, NW. Upon arrival there, the fare then asks to be taken to the 200 block of Allison Street, NW. Both the fare and the driver exit the vehicle to enter a building when the fare produced a knife and robbed the cab driver of cash. Time of offense is 11:45 pm. The suspect is a light complexioned black male medium build with a goatee, 25 years old with black twists hairstyle.

November 2 – cab driver picks up fare at 14th and U Streets, NW, and asks to be taken to New Hampshire and Buchanan Street, NW. Upon arrival there, the fare then produces a knife and robs the driver of cash. Time of offense is 12:15 am. The suspect is a medium complexioned black male, 30 years old, 5’7”, shoulder length dreadlock hairstyle.
