Promise Rides

The goal of Promise Rides is to support the improvement of lives of district residents that are at high risk to experience gun violence by removing transportation barriers to success. To do so, Promise Rides gives these residents free transportation to locations related to employment, education, healthcare, social and community services. The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) partners with district agencies, community groups and select district employees to coordinate this free transportation service to their high risk clientele.

Cost to riders: Free

Hours of Operation: 24/7

Eligibility: District residents that are at higher risk to experience gun violence; resident must be in the Promise People program or receiving services from an agency that has partnered with DFHV to use the Promise Rides program.
