Digital Taxicab Solution Open Season

The month of August is the time for D.C. taxi drivers to change their Digital Taxicab Solution (DTS) or Option for Payment Technology (OPT) Provider, if they choose to do so. The DFHV limits DTS and OPT contracts to one year, September 1 - August 31, to protect drivers and expand drivers’ choices. (DTS and OPT providers supply the tablet meters found in every D.C. taxicab.)

August 31, 2020 is the deadline to select your DTS or OPT

Digital Taxicab Solution (DTS)

The “Open Season” for drivers to make their choices of DTS or OPT for the upcoming operating year is August 1 through August 31, 2020. We encourage you to learn about each provider’s offering and make the best choice for yourself.

Currently, the approved DTS Providers for the operating year ending August 31, 2020 are listed below:

Option For Payment Technology (OPT)

The approved OPT Provider, which is an alternative to using a DTS Provider for drivers registered as Independent Operators, for the operating year ending August 31, 2020 is listed below:

A driver’s agreement with a DTS or OPT is only permitted to last for 12 months (September 1, 2020 – August 31, 2021.) It cannot extend for more than one year at a time. DFHV enforces this one-year limit to protect drivers and to ensure a functioning market for DTS and OPT.
