The DC Taxicab Commission (DCTC) today was advised by USA Motors that the company would no longer function as a Payment Service Provider (PSP). Further, USA Motors informed DCTC of arrangements to allow vehicle owners to transfer on a no-cost basis to Creative Mobile Technologies or Transco, Inc for installation and servicing of the Modern Taximeter System (MTS). DCTC offered no objections provided that installations were scheduled within the next seven days and completed by November 30, 2013. USA Motors agreed to continue providing service to these vehicles until the vehicles are able to obtain the replacement MTS units.

USA Motors expressed some concerns regarding meeting certain requirements of a PSP and therefore decided to take this course of action. This decision will affect about 950 vehicles. There is no disruption expected in any of these specific vehicles to the capability of riders to make cashless payments.
