Taxicab Commission Suspends Testing

Friday, September 27, 2002

Beginning October 1, 2002, taxicab testing will be suspended for a six month period. Although the suspension of the examination will not infringe upon enrollment in the hacker's training course held at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). The suspension will also not affect the processing of face cards for new applicants that have passed the examination as of September 30th.

During the suspension period, the Taxicab Commission will evaluate and assist UDC in revising its present course curriculum. The Commission is also in the process of revising the hacker's examination. The Commission expects that the evaluation process will provide an updated course format and examination that will benefit new drivers and the riding public.
