On December 1, 2004, the DC Taxicab Commission will sponsor its first Taxicab Driver Appreciation Day in conjunction with the Hotel Association of Washington, DC.

 

Area hotels will offer free coffee during the morning rush hour to taxicab drivers that pick up passengers at their hotel taxi stands. This event is to recognize the hardworking men and women who provide reliable and quality taxicab service to the residents of the city and its tourists.

 

The hotels along with the Washington Convention Center that are participating in the event are as follows: Hamilton Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Capitol, Holiday Inn Downtown at Thomas Circle, Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University, Loews L'Enfant Plaza, Madison Hotel, Melrose Hotel, River Inn, Sofitel Hotel, and Wyndham City Center.
