DC Taxicab Commission Announces New Meeting Location and FY 2012 Meeting Schedule

Friday, August 19, 2011
Monthly Commission meetings will be held in the Old Council Chambers on the first floor of the One Judiciary Square Building at 441 4th Street NW.

Acting Chairman Ron M. Linton today announced that the DC Taxicab Commission will begin holding its monthly Commission meeting in the Old Council Chambers on the first floor of the One Judiciary Square Building at 441 4th Street NW. The Commission will hold regularly scheduled, open-to-the-public informational meetings on the second Wednesday of each month from September through November and January through July (the Commission does not meet in August or December).  The standing time for the meeting is 9:30 am unless otherwise noted on the DC Taxicab Commission website.

Please note that the Commission’s final meeting of Fiscal Year 2011 will be held on September 21 (the 3rd Wednesday in September rather than the 2nd Wednesday). The agenda will generally include time for comments from the Commissioners and staff reports as well as communications and presentations from the Mayor, the D.C. Council and District, regional and federal agencies, if they are needed.  Each meeting will also include a segment allowing public comment from individuals who register in advance to speak. Commission votes on subjects for which public comments have previously been received will be taken at these meetings.  Public comments on matters to be decided by the Commission will be heard in Public Hearings, to be scheduled as needed for the Commission.  Anyone wishing to speak at such Public Hearings will be required to register to speak and note the subject of their comment.  Public Hearings will be announced on the DC Taxicab Commission website and in the DC Register. For further information, contact the DC Taxicab Commission at (202) 645-6018.
