Attention Gleike Customers

Vehicle owners' advisory

Gleike’s operating authority has been suspended by the DC Taxicab Commission. As a result, all vehicle owners must transfer to other approved PSPs. Title 31 of the DC Municipal Regulations prohibits the operation of a taxicab without an approved MTS system provided by a PSP with current operating authority.

Each owner must make an appointment and sign a new contract with another Payment Service Provider (PSP) by January 22 for an installation appointment to occur no later than February 5.

Owners must choose from among the PSPs listed on the Commission’s website at http://dctaxi.dc.gov/publication/payment-service-providers. Owners with fully operational MTS units from Gleike will continue to receive service and support from Gleike until their new equipment is installed. When an owner executes a contract with a new PSP, and the new PSP installs its equipment in an owner’s vehicle, the new PSP will remove Gleike’s equipment and notify Gleike to arrange for the equipment’s safe return to Gleike. Gleike will accept the notice as a termination of the owner’s contract with Gleike. Gleike shall make arrangements with each PSP to receive all removed equipment at its current business office on file with the Office. Gleike shall receive all returned equipment in a safe, secure, indoor location. Within three (3) business days, Gleike shall make all payments owed to the owner and driver under the contract, and shall refund any deposit in full. Gleike is not permitted to pass along to owners any charges, costs or fees in connection with the termination of a contract. Owners who are not timely paid by Gleike should immediately contact the Commission to file a complaint.

Owners must not tamper with, disable or remove Gleike’s MTS equipment and may be liable to Gleike if they do so. Owners must continue to use their Gleike equipment until it is replaced. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in impoundment and/or civil fines.
