Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles Incentive Program - Extension
The Department of For-Hire Vehicles is extending the WAV Incentive Program and making available an additional twenty-eight thousand five hundred dollars ($28,500) in funding available to taxicab companies who own, rent, or lease a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), to increase the availability of wheelchair accessible taxis and offset ownership costs. All awards are subject to final review and availability of funding.
How Does It Work:
1. A total amount not to exceed seventeen thousand five hundred dollars ($17,500), with a maximum of five hundred dollars ($500) per driver, for drivers of wheelchair accessible taxicabs. Trip Bonus for drivers who have completed at least 25 WAV trips in a month (July or August).
2. A total amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to the top four (4) taxicab companies, in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) each, who have the highest utilization rate of the WAVs in their fleet.
3. A total amount not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) to the top five (5) taxicab drivers ($200.00 per driver) who have completed the most number of trips, as determined by trip data, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 12:00 am during the months of July and August 2017.
Eligibility: Taxicab companies only
How to Submit:
Read the Grant Agreement attached below. If you agree with the terms of the Agreement, complete the Agreement in its entirety and upload to the application page.
You must fill out the following sections:
a. Top of Page enter your: Company Name or Doing Business As Name, address, and zip code.
b. Page 8: Section XV Notice, fill in your Name, address, email – (business names must match the first page and W9).
c. Sign, and date the last page.
d. Complete the W-9 attached below.

Reservations: DFHV reserves the right to issue addenda and/or amendments after the issuance of this notice.
Register here for WAV Incentive Program Registration does not guarantee approval, but you must register before you file the WAV Bonus Grant Agreement. Rental drivers of WAVs do not need to take any action to enroll.
