Grant Funding

The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) welcomes for-hire companies, drivers, and innovators whom are eligible to apply for grant programs designed to enhance the DC transportation experience for all DC residents, drivers, and visitors alike.  The Department of For-Hire Vehicles is offering grant funding to fulfill the regulatory responsibility to support the economic viability of the for-hire industry and to enhance customer choice. DFHV is subjected to regulatory requirements and amendments, the DFHV is authorized to provided grants to owners of licensed taxicabs legally operating and incorporated in the District for purposes outlined in D.C. Official Code § 50-301.20 (b) (1).  

Current Opportunities 

1) Notice of Grant Funding for DFHV’s FY22 Commercial Driver License (CDL) Training and Incentive Grant to Support SchoolConnect for Economic and Career Development of Taxi Drivers. The Request for Applications (RFA), Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), and the required Participation Agreement found within the RFA, Appendix IV, can be accessed here for the applicant’s review: CDL Training NOFA, CDL Training RFA, and Participation Agreement; DFHV will keep this grant application open until further notice. 2) Notice of Grant Funding for DFHV’s FY22 SchoolConnect Safe Passage Pilot program.  Applicants seeking to apply for the DFHV grant will need to create a profile within the ZoomGrants portal.  DFHV will only accept online submission through the ZoomGrants’ portal:  Apply on Zoomgrants.  The Request for Applications (RFA), Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), and the required eligibility criteria is located in sections C and D within the RFA, this can be accessed here for the applicant’s review: School Connect RFA and School Connect NOFA.  The deadline for submitting completed applications will be January 13, 2022; midnight, PT.  Pre-Application Meetings are scheduled for December 8, 2021, 2 pm – 3 pm and January 3, 2022, 1 pm - 2 pm, see page 12 of the RFA for meeting access information.  DFHV will not be offering a rolling application deadline at this time.

3) Notice of Grant Funding for DFHV’s FY22 Charge Me Up (EV Charging Tower Project) program.  Applicants seeking to apply for the DFHV grant will need to create a profile within the ZoomGrants’ portal.  DFHV will only be accepting online application submission through ZoomGrants at: ZoomGrants Application Click Here.  The Request for Applications (“RFA”), Notice of Funding Availability (“NOFA”), and the required eligibility criteria is located within the RFA, review each document thoroughly: FY22 Charging Station RFA and FY22 Charge Me Up EV Grant NOFA.  The application within ZoomGrants will go live on 12/27/21 and will close on 1/17/22, midnight, PT.  The Pre-Application Conference meeting will be held virtually on Webex on 1/7/22 from 2 pm – 3 pm, refer to page 6 of the RFA for meeting information.  DFHV will not be offering a rolling application deadline for this project.
