The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) welcomes for-hire companies, drivers and innovators whom are eligible to apply for grant programs designed to enhance the DC transportation experience for all DC residents, drivers and visitors alike. The Department of For-Hire Vehicles is offering grant funding to fulfill the regulatory responsibility to support the economic viability of the for-hire industry and to enhance customer choice. DFHV is subjected to regulatory requirements and amendments, the DFHV is authorized to provided grants to owners of licensed taxicabs legally operating and incorporated in the District for purposes outlined in DC Official Code § 50-301.20 (b) (1).
The Government of the District of Columbia, Department of For-Hire Vehicles (“DFHV”), is soliciting applications from all eligible DFHV licensed taxicab companies (“Taxicab Companies”), taxicab associations, or independent operators partnering with a DTS company who has the current Digital Taxicab Solution (“DTS”) certifications to increase the availability of wheelchair accessible vehicle (“WAV”) transportation services in the District through the distribution of incentives. DFHV may seek to expand its WAV grant program and services, depending on the program’s performance success.

The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (“DFHV”) is soliciting applications from eligible DFHV licensed taxicab companies (“Taxicab Companies”), approved Digital Taxi Solution (“DTS”) provider or a Digital Dispatch Services (“DDS”), or business partnership of a DTS and Taxicab Company Operating Authority providers as a single entity (hereinafter “Awardee” or “Applicant”) to be a part of the Mayor’s Office of Veteran Affairs (“MOVA”) VetsRide Program (“VETSRIDE”) providing for-hire services to eligible veterans.
Awardee will provide cost-effective, high-quality transportation services to eligible DC Veterans seeking transportation services to a list of pre-authorized locations in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. An updated FY27 list of approved locations will be provided by the Mayor’s Office of Veteran Affairs (MOVA) at the start of the project.

The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (“DFHV”) is soliciting applications from all eligible DFHV licensed taxicab companies (“Taxicab Companies”) with current DFHV Digital Taxicab Solution (“DTS”) licensing and Operational Authority to operate DFHV’s Transport DC (“TDC”) program for FY27. Transport DC is a premium alternative transportation service for WMATA Metro Access customers.
Awardees will provide cost-effective, high-quality transportation services to eligible Transport DC customers. Customers may take up to ten (10) one-way trips (5 round trips each month) to any destination within the District of Columbia. All trip requests are available for same-day, on-demand taxi service.
