Notice of Grant Funding-Neighborhood Taxi Service

NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY
GRANTS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD TAXI SERVICE
 
The Government of the District of Columbia, Taxicab Commission is soliciting applications from approved taxicab companies to provide neighborhood taxi service to underserved areas within the District of Columbia – specifically, in Wards 4, 7, and 8.
 
The Request for Applications (“RFA”) # NVS2016-01-001 release date is January 7, 2016. The full text of the RFA is attached below. It is also be available for pickup. A person may obtain a copy of this RFA by any of the following means:
 
Download from the DCTC website;
 
Email a request to [email protected] with “Request copy of RFA NEIGHBORHOOD TAXI SERVICE 2016-00-001” in the subject line;
 
In person by picking up a copy from the DCTC ADA office at 2235 Shannon Place, SE, Suite 2001, Washington, DC 20020; or
 
Write DC Taxicab Commission, Office of Taxicabs at 2235 Shannon Place, SE Washington, DC 20020, Attn: Request copy of RFA# NEIGHBORHOOD TAXI SERVICE 2016-00-001” on the outside of the letter.
 
The deadline for application submissions is February 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. After that date and initial grants are awarded, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted or until September 30, 2016 at 3:00 p.m., whichever comes first. Four hard copies must be submitted to the above address and a complete electronic copy must be submitted.
 
Eligibility: Only taxicab companies that are licensed by DCTC may participate in the Neighborhood Taxi Service Program and may apply for this opportunity.
 
Period of Awards: The Neighborhood Taxi Service Program performance period will begin on February 1, 2016 and end on January 30, 2017.
 
Available Funding: One or more awards will be made, and award amounts will range from a minimum of $10,000 per grant up to a maximum of $200,000 in total awards. There may be more than one grant recipient. The amount is contingent on availability of funding and approval by the appropriate agencies.
