Grants for Wheelchair Accessible Taxicabs
The Government of the District of Columbia, Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) is soliciting applications from licensed taxicab companies to provide taxicab transportation service and online or in-person wheelchair accessible vehicle training. The approved taxicab companies will provide transportation services for MetroAccess clients for trips to and from locations within the District of Columbia. Transportation service will be provided by wheelchair accessible and non-accessible taxicabs, depending on the client's needs. The approved taxicab companies will provide training to any DFHV licensed driver. The release date for the RFA is Monday, September 12, 2016.

The deadline for application submissions is Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
Four (4) hard copies must be submitted to the above address and a complete electronic copy must also be submitted to [email protected]
Eligibility: Only DFHV-licensed taxicab companies that participate in Transport DC may apply.
Period of Awards: The perfromance period is October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017
Available Funding: Funding is not to exceed approximately $3,790,000 (maximum $3,772,000 for service and $18,000 for training) will be made available by October 1, 2016, for one or more awards. There may be more than one gramt recipient. The amount is contingenct on funding availability and approval by all appropriate agencies.
